Add reading and writing exercises for BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE 201 and 202

    Dear LiveMocha personnel,

The most attractive feature of LiveMocha is to be able to improve on writing and aural skills. Without writing and speaking exercises, LiveMocha lessons are of little use.

I therefore kindly ask you to add writing and reading-speaking exercises to Brazilian Portugu... more

Please let us know when the service is back.

I faced the temporary service downtime for the first time. You called it "tea time".

Anyway, could you leave the note about when the service is back? Knowing the re-open time would make me feel more comfortable to wait.

Thank you for great service. :)

    Reduce submissions limit until 3

I suggest reducing submissions limit for one person until 3 per day. It is so boring to check up 10 and sometimes 20 submissions in a day from the some fellow LiveMocha member! Besides such learning is profanation of the educational process. If somebody wants to get more attention to himself, he ... more

add a lesson on pinyin to Mandarin Chinese.

The Mandarin lessons jump straight into characters and pinyin without ever introducing pronunciation. Pinyin is included as a guide to pronunciation but no lesson ever covers how to correctly pronounce it. This is frustrating as an English speaker since there are a number of letter combinations a... more

    Inappropriate introductions.

It is becoming more and more apparent that Livemocha makes inappropriate suggestions to members who submit exercises, regarding possible reviewers. Foreign correspondents tell me that they also receive Livemocha notifications in the standard form, asking for reviews of exercises by members of who... more

Arabic is a very important language. Not only is one of the six official languages of the United Nations but it is also spoken by about 280 million native speakers and 250 million non native speakers around the world.

Add writing/speaking exercises for 200-level courses in Portuguese, Arabic, etc.

As you all know, writing and speaking exercises are inexistent for 200-level courses in Portuguese, Arabic, etc.

I do not know what the reason for this is, but I would love to have the opportunity of polishing my writing and speaking skills for languages such as Portuguese and Arabic. I am pa... more

    Gaelic (Irish) and Gaelic (Scottish)

Divide Gaelic in the language list into Gaelic (Irish) and Gaelic (Scottish). It's confusing to search speakers/learners of one of theses languages and not to know which one the member really speaks/learns.

Add video exercises to learning content.

I think if would be a great idea if videos were added as exercises at the end of the units. The videos could show native/fluent speakers holding conversations which would cover the material learned throughout the lesson. For example, on the lessons dealing with time, the video could consist of a ... more

    Mandarin Chinese with Traditional Characters

I'm learning Mandarin Chinese, but I plan to move to Taiwan someday. Therefore, I'd love it if the Chinese lessons on Livemocha also had a Traditional Chinese edition, and if not too much trouble, having it spoken with much less Beijing accent, like how it would sound in Taiwan and other communities overseas.

flag user submissions for review by type - text/audio

I get over 100 submissions a day for review, but at work, I do not have a sound card. I would like to be able to look at the submissions and only open the text ones, saving the audio ones for when I am home and can listen to them.
